avvo.com DOES NOT LIKE competition A WARNING to LAWYERS

AVVO is a website referal site that claims to give free legal advice to the client. Truth Be told it is a site ran by lawyers for lawyers. They have an agenda, and it is not to help the client. Their agenda is to strong arm lawyers and take control of their names and then make them pay to get better ratings.

AVVO.COM made their claim to fame when irate lawyers to them to task with a lawsuit that went nowhere and has been questioned as a lawsuit meant to only put them on the map. In other words a fake lawsuit that has clogged the courts up with wasted tax payers money so they could get free advertisement. Lawyers were mad that they have hijacked their law firms names.

Now avvo is mad that the same is happening to them with avvo.me a competition site. I was informed that avvo has attempted to buy this site and was turned down. They then threatened to take it from the owner with a lawsuit. I guess avvo.com thinks they own the rights to avvo.me because it is their name. Isn’t that ironic that they have done this to lawyers for 3 years now and now they don’t like it done to them?

I look forward to seeing the outcome. I look forward to seeing what avvo.me plans to do with the site. I look forward to seeing how many lawyers are willing to help avvo.me because avvo.com does not like competition. A warning to lawyers, if you want your name back from avvo.com after you claim your profile…..plan on paying for it one way or another.

ASSHATLAWYER.COM Sponsoring the AVVO.COM CHALLENGE with pomp and circumstance.

What exactly is the AVVO CHALLENGE? It is the test of all test. Here we have a website designed to rate lawyers for you the client. This soon becomes a play for money, power, influence, and did I mention money?

This site is walking a double edge sword. It has a large following of legal supporters that promote their rating on their own websites which usually give a direct link back to AVVO.COM making the site that much more influential.

What then as a client am I to believe? Is this Lawyer really as good as their rating or does AVVO give preferential treatment to lawyers that have rated websites that can then make AVVO a powerhouse. It is just like commercials being paid for on T.V. by the Sponsors. Without the Sponsors where exactly is AVVO?

So I had to test the waters and had two people that were represented by two separate attorneys. One with a web presence and AVVO Sponsor. The other just a name with no web presence both with 15+ years experience.

1. Lawyer with no web Presence was rated by prior client with a 3 out of 10 and a scathing review of being cheated. Posted to profile immediately.

2. Lawyer 2 was given a 7 out of 10 and one line complain about always to busy to talk about case. But, the rating then was held in a queue and simply disappeared. 24 hours later an email arrived stating the rating was being contested. Are you serious? And stated that I had 72 hours to verify the rating so it could be posted. I went to the clients profile page and the lawyers profile page. And there was no verifying anything. It was as if it never happened. So I email them back stating the case number, the lawyer, and dates followed by an attachment of the disposition of the case. I was not responded to. I followed up with2 more emails and even attempted to repost rating but was told only one rating per lawyer and I had already used it. Amazing.

So here is my challenge to all disgruntled clients that have been screwed over by their lawyer and what you can do. Go to avvo and write an honest review about your experience and give a fair and honest rating. If this lawyer has Shiny 10.0 and they won’t let you post your review come back here and let us know. If you have been represented by one of these AsshatLawyer on our site I want to see a review.

AssHat Lawyer is Now Open and ready to Crown the Most Moronic Lawyers with a Crown of ASS. These lawyers are well deserving and you will see What I mean.

I will designate an area for people to nominate a lawyer for the weekly Ass-hat Lawyer and will set up polls for a monthly winner and a annual Ass-Hat Lawyer. We will be giving the winning lawyer Shame, Humility, and of course a Crown of ASS. The submitter will be given the monthly funds made by the advertisements. So as the site Grows so will the prize and the shame.

Artwork will be needed and animation will be a treasure. Work with us for the satisfaction of knowing these Ass Hat Lawyers will be Memorialized is our ASSHAT HALL OF FAME.
